Dublin and its colored doors

Dublin and its colored doors.

Exterior doors of Irish houses surprised us much. Colored, bright, of all kinds! The answer itself was beyond all our expectations: in days gone by most of the front doors were used to be the same colour and a townsman having drunk the well-known Irish beer, would knock on another person’s door, thinking it to be his own. Unexpected drunk guests caused some troubles to the inhabitants of the house. The problem was solved in original way. And now, walking along the streets we enjoy a colourful collage of Dublin doors.

Irish people are wonderful and admirable in their kind! You can see a man dressed up in a fur coat or a binny but put flip-flops on his bare feet. Or another combination was winter boots and a T-shirt! It was amazing to see a warmly dressed married couple and their baby in a vest only. There was nothing for it but to shrug your shoulders and… admire!

Diana arrived in Dublin together with Alisher Karimov upon an invitation of Kazakh Diaspora in Ireland. The schedule of the visit was so tight that it seemed impossible to accomplish it even within a month. And we had only a week! We were eager to see this ancient city with its 2000 years of history, the city which in the course of twenty years transformed from an old town into a modern and dynamic metropolis with its fancy clubs, nice cafes, expensive restaurants and brand boutiques. Rich plazas and luxurious hotels, galleries and art house cinemas are found side by side with old pubs and ancient cathedrals.

As it turned out it was easy to walk all around the city. We found locals far more sophisticated than we could judge by their appearance. They were very friendly like people living in the countryside could be.

A day later the formal part of the program started and we were to meet with Lord Mayor of Dublin Ehmmer Costello, a charming lady! She gave a warm welcome to our singers. Diana and Alisher performed a capella “ Kozymnyn Karasy”, a Kazakh folk song. Ehmmer Costello was affected by their talented performance and she gave our singers Dublin symbol gifts.

See the video of his performance below.

In conclusion Ehmmer Costello said that Ireland was an incredibly open country with very hospitable people who were glad to meet people of different culture. She wished creative success to the Kazakh performers.

Interview at "NEAR 90.3 FM" Irish radio station was interesting and NEAR 90.3 FM fruitful. Diana and Alisher said a lot about music tendencies in Kazakhstan and their own prospects. They also granted their latest Albums for Irish listeners.

The concerts were held in traditional Irish pubs. Songs both in Russian and English and especially songs in the Kazakh language were greeted warmly by the audience. Unfortunately we had not any opportunity for video shooting because of poor lighting. Instead of video shooting you can see some photos of the events.

We also visited Guinness beer plant and learned much about beer culture. Beer GUINNESS A three-storey Guinness pub museum brought us not only foamy joy but also inspired deep respect to the history of concern itself and to Irish traditions. On the third floor some music collectives were performing for visitors all day long. Diana and Alisher wisely decided to cancel their performance because their repertoire did not fit well into the pub theme. As for the Irish beer it was perfect!

We were lucky! As it happened to be the Saint Patrick’s Day, the Irish festival celebrated on March 17. It was a lifetime experience. We are happy to show you two-minute festival’s video./

We also met with Kazakhstani students from the Universities of Dublin. Cheerful, creative guys went with us almost everywhere and told us a lot of their student life. Besides they approved themselves to be very good guides. We did not leave a favor unanswered and sang for them. Luckily for us the most of pubs had music equipment and pub owners allowed us to use it. All the guests of the pubs applauded Diana’s and Alisher’s performances. It made us think that Ehmmer Costello was right when she said that Irish people were hospitable to another cultures.

There were three official concerts. But according to the contract we can not show you the videos now. You’ll get a chance to see them later. Now see the photos.
