Antwerp, Shooting of Video for “Moonlight Sonata” Song

Antwerp, a small town in Belgium within an hour’s drive from Amsterdam, appeared to be a very good choice for shooting the video for “Moonlight Sonata” song. Abraham and Diana liked the small town despite the gloominess of ancient castles. At the night a stately and gloomy Vampire House transformed into an abode of vampires. As the shooting sessions took place at night it was the presence of the film crew that allayed our excitement and dispelled fear.

Martin's Hotel we stayed in is accommodated in an ancient church in the former Carmelite convent lands and its interior has preserved all church attributes. In a word the entire environment set everyone into a creative mood. At daytime everyone had a good sleep and shooting sessions started late in the evening. By the morning our legs pained and we were sleepy and hungry. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant did not work in the morning and we contented ourselves with buns and juice. Another hour was spent on removing make-up and finally everyone plunged into blissful sleep. In the evening the routine process recurred. Worn out and exhausted, during one of the shooting sessions Diana wearing high heels stepped on Abraham’s bare foot. Despite severe pain caused to the singer the shooting was not terminated…

Both the artists to appear of the same height Diana was placed on a wooden support. The support was swaying and Diana would slip off it. The number of takes increased.

As a vamp Diana was very convincing and impressive. However this role turned out easier than that of a girl seized with anxious expectation. Joint takes with Abraham were the most crucial and difficult: the idol’s prestige put additional pressure on his partner. As for Avraam he was superb and highly professional as usual.
